Welcome to The Stockton Young Marines
The Young Marines were started on October 17, 1965, as the Marine Corps' drug demand reduction program. We exist to install
discipline, and pride of our country and Marine Corps.
This is not a program to teach children to fight. The Young Marines learn about everything the Marine Corps teaches,
except for Weapons and Tactics.
We are not Marine Corps recruiters. Members of the YM program are in no way commited to any service in the military
The Stockton detachment is based out of Sharpe's Army Depot in Lathrop, CA. The Young Marines is for children ages 8
through high school.
