Who Can Join?
The Young Marines is for children ages eight through high school. They will be led by Staff Members, Young Marines
of higher rank, commonly refered to as NCO's, a corporal or higher. They will go through a Boot Camp, and, upon graduation,
become a full Young Marine and participate in our other activities.
Benefits of Joining
There are many benefits to joining the Young Marines. We will instill a sense of national pride, discipline, structure,
and patriotism in your child's life. Another benefit is that, if a Young Marine attains the rank of Sergeant in the Young
Marines, they will become a PFC upon graduation from real Boot Camp if they choose to become real Marines

Boot Camp
Upon entering the Young Marines, a child will go through the 26 hour orientation, stretched over 3 months, known as Boot
Camp. They will learn the basic close order drill, such as marching, facing movements, and saluting. Also, they will
go through classes to learn about Marine Corps and Young Marine history, military courtesy and customs, and basic survival
skills. At the end of Boot Camp, recruits will take an oral exam to demonstrate their knowledge and aptitude in the fields
they were instructed in.
After Boot Camp
After Boot camp, the Young Marines will work their way up through the ranks, from Private to Sergeant Major. They will
be given the chance to go to various summer encampments that may include rappeling, river crossing, land survival and navigation,
drill competions, etc. Also, throughout the year, the Young Marines will march in different parades, and get the chance to
perform some community service.
Membership Fee
The Young Marines require a small yearly fee. The first fee is fifty dollars, then twenty dollars a year
after that. This money goes toward registration with National Headquarters, insurance, a unit T-shirt and cover(hat). The
Young Marines is a non-profit organization, and any donations are tax-deductible.
